This is designed to provide fairly broad covers mainly in respect of office contents. The cover is against all loss or damage except as may be excluded based on the "Exceptions" in the policy.

These "Exception" are as follows :

• War and kindred risks, civil war, mutiny, civil commotion assuming the proportion of or amounting to popular rising, military rising, insurrection, rebellion, revolution, conspiracy, military or usurped power, martial law etc and acts of terrorism.
• Ionizing radiations or contamination by radioactivity from nuclear fuel or nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel.
• Nuclear weapons material.
• Consequence of strike or riot.
• Wear and tear, gradual deterioration, depreciation, mechanical or its own ignition, or electrical breakdown or burnout or derangement.
• Moth, vermin, any process of cleaning, dyeing, repairing or restoring or action of light, atmospheric or climatic conditions.
• Records, film or tapes other loss by fire and theft and only as respect unused materials.
• Faults and defects known to the Insured at the time of effecting insurance and not disclosed.
• Detention, confiscation, destruction or requisition by Customs and other authorities.
• Fraud and dishonesty of employees.
• Shortage due to error or omission.
• Mere disappearance, misplacement or when left unattended except in a securely locked vehicle.

Most of the exclusions are mandatory except perhaps strike and riots which may be covered with additional premiums. Generally, separate deductibles are applied, one for natural perils losses and one for other than natural perils losses
